Winger Webb returns to Canada to “...win a trophy for” Atlético Ottawa

Canadian winger, Jordan Webb, has chosen the nation’s Capital as he ends a decade in the Singapore Premier League with a switch to the CPL.
A change of scenery and climate for Jordan Webb as, following more than 10 years of professional football in Singapore, the 33-year-old will be plying his trade in Ottawa’s red and white stripes in the 2021 Canadian Premier League season.
Webb, who spent his early days playing in the USL League Two (the Premier Development League as it was formerly known), will bring his pace and trickery to Canada on a professional level for the first time.
With over 100 goals to his name in Singapore, including 27 in the past two seasons, Atlético Ottawa are not only signing a dangerous winger but also prolific goal-scorer.
At 33 years of age, don’t expect the team to be built around the Ontario-native, but with the breadth of professional experience and undeniable footballing talent that Webb has in his locker, Mista will be hoping he brings a fiercer edge to the Ottawa frontline this season.

“I wanted my family and friends to see me play,” Webb tells CCSG about his homecoming and what Atlético fans can look forward to on the field.
From Indonesia to Thailand, Webb’s experience in Singapore gave him the opportunity to travel across large parts of Asia “he probably wouldn’t have gone to”, playing the game he loves.
The competition was fierce too, in 2016 whilst playing for Tampines Rovers (during the first of two stints at the club) Webb lined up alongside Jermaine Pennant - a player who had regularly featured in the first team for Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool.
Not only this, but the 33-year-old did it with aplomb, outshining Pennant, scoring 16 goals and tallying 11 assists during the 2016 season.
Having started his career in Ontario, predominantly playing semi-professional football, Jordan Webb uprooted his life and flew to the other side of the globe on the recommendation of his cousin, and fellow footballer, Anthony Adur.
Adur (who featured eight times for FC Edmonton during the 2013/14 season) passed the baton to his cousin, as Webb signed for Hougang United FC in 2010 - leading to a decade of football in South East Asia.
Jokingly describing himself as a bit of a “diver”, the tricky winger is excited to start playing in the CPL.

“It feels great coming back to Canada to play, I’ve been thinking of coming back the past few years but chose not to ‘cause I was playing AFC in Asia which is a good competition.” - Jordan Webb
Picking Ottawa was an easy decision for the 33-year-old as “playing under a legend like Mista will be amazing.”
“Not everyone gets the chance to play under such a coach, who has played everywhere, at such a high level.
“I will definitely be picking his brain to get better as a player and as a person as well.
“And he was an attacker right! So attackers like myself will benefit from his expertise,” he said.
Webb says fans can expect a “lot of fouls committed against” him as he uses his “pace all over the field” to get “goals from wing positions, and assists of course”.
“I can assure you I’ll do my best to bring quality football to this team and possibly win a trophy for Atlético Ottawa,” he said.
Off the back of a 20-goal season and silverware during his second spell with Tampines Rovers FC, it would seem as good a time as any to take up a new challenge, though the Ontario native is motivated by family as much as football.
“I came back because I wanted my family and friends to see me play and to sort out my life after football,” Webb told CCSG.

With a history of silverware in Asia, Mista will be hoping that Jordan Webb can bring his winning mentality, alongside his clear footballing talent, to this ever-more exciting Atlético Ottawa side for the upcoming season.
Webb is the third new player to be announced following the signing of midfielder Chris Mannella and goalkeeper Dylon Powley.
